I'm not sure how September passed so quickly, but this week brings in October!!! We are enjoying nice weather lately, and my students are well into the routine of class. I want to tell you a bit about our science and social studies programs. When you check the parent portal, you'll find that those subjects have a grade scale that is Satisfactory, Needs Improvement, or Unsatisfactory. This set up is due to the fact that we are not able to teach these subjects full time, as we do with Math and Language Arts. The S-N-U grading system is still based on a point score. One of the difficulties students have tends to be taking these classes lightly and not prioritizing the work that is assigned. This is just to remind you that when these grades come out, they are also important, and the major problem tends to be from work that is not turned in. Your student will likely not have scheduled tests for these subjects, however there are grades assessed to these subjects, and the assigned work must be turned in!
