Happy Spring Break!!!!
WOW, Spring break is about 30 minutes away!!! From what I can tell, everyone is looking forward to the break from our routine for awhile. I hope the week and the break are nice for all my families, and everyone is ready to hit it again when we get back in April!
Happy Spring Break!!!!

You know how sometimes your neighbor is grilling, and it smells so good you wish that you'd have thought of that? That's how we're feeling about Spring break in my class today!!! WE have one more day, however, and it is an assessment day for Comm Arts, Reading, and every minute of our time in math counts double right now! (Not for grades, but for the material we still need to cover!!!!) Tomorrow we are still going to party in the afternoon to celebrate our boxtops winnings. If you would like to send a treat/ice cream topping, or anything else for our party, please do. We are looking forward to our day to party again!
Wow, school is flying by now! WE are making plans for our field trip, and for the MAP test, and we are going on Principal's Surprise trip! Fortunately we have spring break first, as I think we all need the week to rest. Please see if you can find an opportunity for your child to measure things at your house. It can seem like fun and not work--and they MUST practice reading increments on a ruler. Thank you, any help you provide will pay off in your student having this skill.
There are a lot of excited children today! The list of students eligible for the Principal's Surprise trip has been revealed! I am excited that I have twelve students in my room who are able to go! The trip will be on April 12--which is just after spring break! I will be going on this trip as well, and we are going to the Magic House in St. Louis. Please send back the signed permission form as soon as you can, and then it won't have to be remembered just before the trip. All the details for the trip, times, etc. should be on the form. If you have any additional questions, please get in touch with me, and I'll find answers for you.
I love spring! It has been so pretty lately. WE have one more full week of school before spring break! Your children are doing very well, and we're having parties today and next Friday so hopefully no one is becoming stressed. As the end of the school year approaches, our schedule seems to become more and more demanding. We will return from spring break with about a week until our MAP test. I seem to always be asking for donations for our class, but it would be great to have some treats on the mornings of test week (probably just 3 or 4 mornings) before the students begin testing. If you have not sponsored our class with treats before, please consider doing so during test week. On my Newsflash page, I've noted the test dates. Have a great weekend!!!
Our attendance party is Friday! WE will be enjoying a movie and treats (and an afternoon off) as a reward for having perfect attendance for enough days to earn the party! Please feel free to send in treats and if your child wishes to bring a movie in for the class to watch, that will be appreciated, and we will watch the movie with the most popular vote! Thank you
Wonderful Monday! WE have had a busy and productive day! This is homework day. Your child will be sent home with a packet of math skills to complete and return tomorrow morning. Even though things do happen, no excuse is accepted for homework packets NOT being ready to check by 8 am! Please help your child remember to do the homework--it won't count unless it is ready first thing. Thank you for helping me help your child.
Special thanks to Mrs. Keele who did a mock science fair project display for us for Parent conferences. I hope you were able to see an example of what the finished display should look like!
WE have earned another attendance party (Way to go, guys!) and I am scheduling that for March 23rd, or next Friday. WE will celebrate our great attendance with a movie and party treats in the afternoon. If you would like to send in a treat for the class to share, it will be appreciated by all. Unit review is coming up this next week. WE will use our instruction time to review skills and take a Unit test for Reading. We'll sneak in a few instructional games as well. Have a great weekend, all! Thank you for attending conferences today. It is always a pleasure to visit with my student's parents! Tomorrow is our assessment day, and we will take tests for reading, spelling, and communication arts. Our class has earned another attendance party! I'm so proud when we have had such good attendance!!! I am tentatively planning to have this party on Friday, March 23rd. I will post when the plans are definite.
There is homework today because tomorrow is a half day. I am looking forward to visiting with you tomorrow, as you come to see me about your student. WE had a great day today!!!! You might ask your child who visited our classroom today! Have a great evening, and get that homework back in. Also--please make sure your student knows where they are to go after school. Thank you!
