I will stop posting baby pictures after this one (maybe!) We had a good week, productive, but the cold temperatures kept us inside all week. With the cold and the construction, recess is a challenge anymore. It looks like it will be cold again, but we will go outside for recess if we can. That means if it's above freezing temperatures. Please be sure that your child wears a heavy coat for these days that are cold. We're nice and toasty in the classroom, but if possible, we will take them outside as the fresh air is good for them, and it's good during this flu time. We welcome a new student to our classroom this week! I am looking forward to another week working with my class!

This week my first grandbaby was born! Little Joseph Daniel Jackson arrived Tuesday, January 15, and weighed in at 8lbs. 1 oz. They've been with us this weekend, and it's a little bit distracting to have someone so tiny and cute around! This week we will be returning to normal activities, and regular work. I'll get over that distraction thing (maybe!) I hope everyone is safe and warm! It is "crazy cold" outside, and not enough snow to play in, I don't think. We knew this was coming, so we sent home some work that our students can do a little at a time, and not lose out on all the skills while they are at home. It is looking like a warming trend is coming later in the week, so perhaps before long we can return to a regular schedule! Take care! Welcome 2014! This new year will see the end of our fourth grade year!!! How exciting is that? I have had a very enjoyable Christmas Break, and I hope that you have as well. I can't wait to hear all about it. Even so, I am looking forward to beginning our "new year" with our work toward the rest of our fourth grade skills. We have a lot left to go over, and it will be fun! We should return to school Thursday, January 2, unless otherwise noted (weather) and resume all regular activities (including tutoring!) Enjoy this last day of vacation! |
