Friday is our Principal's surprise trip, then next week we'll be right back into regular work.
Here is a photo from this week, of the first section of wall going up for the new safe room. The work has been in progress for awhile, although weather has held it up, as well. The area in this photo was once grassy, with a basketball court, and a sidewalk to take us to the gym. I find it exciting to be able to see this work in progress. The construction isn't visable from the street, but you may have noticed our really tall crane which is bringing wall sections over to the site.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! It's also our party day! We have to have our tests first, in the morning---so don't forget about those spelling words, and the reading test. At 2:15 in the afternoon we will have our parties! We are going to have a Valentine card box contest, and we're going to exchange cards, and we're going to enjoy goodies. When we dicussed goodies today, candy, chips, and drinks seemed to be covered, but not baked goods. Anything you would like to send the students will enjoy. It's been a busy week, and I've fallen behind on keeping you up to date. Please be patient, I will get to all the news. Hopefully next week will be more settled. Thank you for letting me work with your children. This is still what's outside my window, and that's ice--so I don't know when we'll be going back to school. This winter just doesn't want to let up. Please watch the news for information about school. I know that the gravel road by my house is still pretty slick, and that it's a few more days before warmer temperatures are supposed to arrive, so....as much as I miss my students (and co-workers) we'll just hold out until it's time to safely go back to school. Another snow day! Looks like this will be one of those years for the record books. I've lost count, but I think we're up to about day 12 of cancelations? I know another storm is forecasted for tomorrow, so we'll see what comes. I'll try to post new plans asap when we're going back....but we will just start where we left off with our work. Everyone enjoy your day at home! |
