It's October! Hard to believe that first quarter is ending this month! We love fall and Spartacus has tried on his winter coat, and is ready for cooler weather when it comes! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about how your child is doing in class. I'm really enjoying working with your children!

TOMORROW is picture day!!!! Also, we have homework tonight. It's front and back of math pages, and it is due TOMORROW morning! Please help your child remember!
Thank you. This is a picture from last year, but it's a nice fall picture of all of us, and as we begin the final week of September this school year, I am so pleased with how well the class is doing! I hope that you are also seeing your child enjoy school as they plow through the skills required for fourth grade! WE are enjoying our days learning---and I am hearing from you as we go along! Thank you for staying in touch, and helping with your child's school year! I was out sick yesterday, and have returned to discover that my students were VERY GOOD (well behaved) in my absence, and we had almost everyone make 100% on the spelling test! That is wonderful!!!! I hope they do as well on our math test tomorrow! We will have our weekly reading test first thing in the morning, and our math test right before lunch. A study guide is coming home!!! I'm very proud of my class!!!
It has been a great start to fourth grade! Remember to ask your child for his/her progress report on Tuesday! The students seem to be doing very well, however, if there is a subject that needs more attention, this mid-way report gives you that information, and gives the student time to work in that area! I will always help them as much as I can. Don't forget that tutoring is available for time to study extra, review for tests, do additional AR, practice new math concepts, or prepare for upcoming tests. It is on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons til 4:00. Let me know if you would like for your child to stay some or all of the days! Mrs. Zaloz, our librarian, works with me during tutoring, so your child can have a teacher all their own! Thank you!
Spartacus just got his weekly bath. He wasn't sure that he needed it, but he did--trust me! I even used a tiny bit of styling gel to try to get his hair to dry out of his face. He resisted that, too. It's a beautiful day, and I hope everyone is enjoying it!
Everyone survived our first official test in math! The scores were pretty good. We have started Chapter 2, and will have occasional homework, but not a lot, and not often. Your student has the responsibility of returning the finished homework when it is assigned.
Tomorrow is our reading/spelling/comm arts tests! Enjoy the cooler weekend coming up. |
