Since some of you are still checking on the site, here is a picture from my Memorial Day/graduation trip to Annapolis to see my son graduate! I'm very proud of Ensign Mark Jackson, and even with the sunburn I got while at the graduation, it was amazing. They had the Blue Angels fly over---which is the Navy's performing jet team--pretty nice! Later we went out and had seafood--the good stuff! It was a nice get-away!

I have posted some pictures from the park! We're all crispy, happy, and excited about tomorrow!!!
It is hard to believe that this school year is almost over! I will miss this class, they are a great bunch of kids! WE will be going to Handy Park tomorrow for lunch and play. We will walk down after field day. Don't forget our awards assembly on Friday morning. Thank you for sharing your children with me this year!
The end of school is flying by like a tidal wave! WE are busy as ever, although we're doing different things now.
I hope you have enjoyed the rice babies as they came home. Don't forget our assembly on Friday, as many of my students will recieve awards for academic superlatives, or citizenship awards. The field trip was fun, and we had a beautiful day for it. Please contact me if you have any questions about anything. RICE BABY ALERT!!! Rice babies are coming home, and THEY ARE CUTE! I'll be posting pictures as I can---they are phone pictures so I don't know how well it'll work, but will try it! Enjoy them (we're tired from the effort, but the students sure did enjoy making/holding rice babies!)
One Monday left in our school year! Wow! WE are making rice babies during math the next couple of days, so if your child has not brought in their rice and hose, please get those in tomorrow, if he or she wants to make a rice baby. This is a super cute project that the children all seem to enjoy (and it reinforces measurement!) Also, remember to send in the permission slip for your child to accompany us on the field trip to the spillway park on Friday, May 11. Since we earned one more attendance party, and we're running out of time, we will be having that party on Thursday afternoon this week. I know it seems that I'm always asking for something to be sent in for the class (I promise I'll stop soon!) but if you would like to send some sort of treat for our party Thursday afternoon--that would be very much appreciated! I am not anxious to end this school year, this class has been a wonderful group of children to work with, and I will sincerely miss them when school is out.
It is hard to believe how quickly our school year is drawing to a close! I have made plans for next week, although please note that they are highly subject to change! WE will be doing our regular lessons as much as possible, even though we have earned another attendance party, which we'll enjoy on Thursday afternoon. Friday will be our field trip to the Spillway--please return those permission forms. There will likely be other interruptions to our schedule as we go through the week, but please have your child in school so he or she doesn't miss out! Have a great weekend, all!
WOW! The Science fair was great! So much work went into the projects students brought, and it was such fun to see them all. I have photos posted here on science fair pages, and while I wasn't able to get pictures of every project, I hope no one feels left out, there were just SO many good displays. Please know that I appreciate all the work that parents did to make this possible. It is always wonderful to see what our kids can do! Thank you to all! A special thanks to our judges, as well, who gave up their time to come and check out all the work.
