This is me today, or at least my feet up, relaxing, and thinking about the upcoming week. I look forward to meeting with you as we talk about how your child is doing in fourth grade, and I share the first report cards! Before that, we will observe Halloween with a walking trip to the Clark's Mountain Nursing Home, and time at the carnival. You are welcome to attend any of these activities with us. We won't be having an "official" party, as there is no time on this half day, but if you would like to send in any treats for the class, they would enjoy that! See you this week!

I'm off to pick up my son on this great fall day! Not a bad day for a road trip! I hope that each of my families is having a wonderful weekend. Don't forget Red Ribbon Week begins tomorrow. Details are on my "Hey Kids" page.
It's almost that time again! The time when we sit down together and discuss how we can help your child be successful in fourth grade! My students are doing very well, but I enjoy this opportunity to discuss with you about their progress! Please send back the form which allows you to pick the time you would like to come in to see me between 1:00 and 6:00 on November 1, for our conference. I will be looking forward to seeing each of you! As promised I have some pretty local pictures of fall scenes. If you are ever interested in any photos that I have posted, feel free to copy from this site. Our countdown, however, is to the end of first quarter. That time is quickly approaching, so students need to be sure all their work is turned in, and all is well done! I received my packet of paperwork on the new school year today, so it is officially time for us to be getting ready for back to school! I love back to school, and pencils, and notebooks, and getting into a new year of learning and activities. With that comes the end of summer vacation, however. I am looking forward to being in contact with my students and parents through this website. I hope you find it useful. Please check often as I update information as soon as I can. Enjoy the remaining days of summer!
I can tell you that jacket weather is new for us. I wore my "shrug" to school upside down yesterday, until I figured out why it fit oddly! Haven't worn a jacket in awhile!!!! We are working (a lot harder) on writing now, and if your child complains, it's part of making him or her better students. We will also be working on multiplication again soon. I know your children learned their multiplication facts last year in third grade, but they've often forgotten many of them when we get to that part of fourth grade. WE would love your help, if you would occasionally review some of the facts with your students.
It's far prettier than I expected this fall would be, so I've decided to post some local pictures as I get them of scenery. Look for those, and enjoy! Thank you again, for letting me work with your children! |
AuthorI am Mrs. Jackson. I have been teaching fourth grade for many years now, and I love teaching! I am excited to work with your children, and hopeful that we will be working as a team to promote a successful year in fourth grade. Me in 4th grade.
