As I sit at my computer thinking about all that I have to organize yet before school, I'm wondering why I'm not content to just enjoy the last day of July? It's a teacher thing, I'm sure---wanting to get back to try new things we've learned over the summer (yes, we study) and get back into our routine! On that note, I wish I could give you more details about our schedule for the new year. We are going to have MANY new things this year! We have new staff, and we have a new room (several teachers will be in new rooms) and there are going to be schedule changes, most likely. Perhaps my students are counting down the days until school as well--either with anticipation or dread? Such is the end of summer, and the idea that we'll soon be together and undertaking new learning adventures. I'm excited to begin a new year, and I'm so glad that after 17 years I still feel that way! See you soon!

Here are some of the reasons that teachers don't have a complete 3-month vacation! Although, I'm not going to complain about the time I've had to research new ideas and lay around doing little, resting up. The "new room" is coming along, but what slows me down so is trying to part with things I've loved for so long (or in some cases forgotten I had) but no longer need or use. I'm going to assume that before too much longer I will have found a place for all the things in my new room, and that the janitors who are so good to me, will dispose of my discards before I go back to reclaim them, because I'm just like that! Vacation draws to a close sooner than we think, but I am always anxious to work with my kids! Happy summer!!! I hope summer is going well for all! I'm sort of liking this "not too hot" weather! I've been in the stores and the school supplies are out!!!! Whoo hooo! No one loves school supplies more than a teacher!! Hopefully everyone still has their lists, and if you start now, you can beat the rush!!!! I'm kind of just a little anxious for August---but don't tell anyone! They'll think that's crazy!!!!
